The Green Movement is upon us and Desco Audio and Video is doing our part to help. What makes buying green? That is difficult to answer becasue of the lack of industry standards at this point, but here are a few things to note

* Look for the Energy Star Logo - These items typically consume less energy to operate and reduce greenhouse gass emissions and other polutants. Most TV's Desco offers are Energy Star rated!

* Use those power saving features! - Many TVs have built in viewing sensors that will reduce the amout of power required for the TV when you aren't watching.

* Automate Green - At Desco we offer systems from Control 4 that have the ability to control Lighting, Heating and Cooling in a way that will help you efficiently manage their energy consumption. Just one more thing you can do to help lower your carbon footprint.

* Recycle your old TV - According to the EPA, in 2005 of the roughly 2 Million Tons of Electronics Discarded only 400 Tons were recylced leaving the remainder for the Landfills. Desco participates in the States Recycling program to take care of your old TV sets.

* Support Manufactures who practice GREEN - Brands such as Sony, Samsung, Sharp and LG all make products that are ECO friendly from their manufacturing of Lead Free Products to their minimal environmentally friendly packaging.

* Doing our part - Here at Desco we have retrofi tted our buliding with energy effi cient occupancy lighting in warehouses and replaced the old HVAC system with a new model with ECO refridgerant. We recyle product packaging such as Cardboard, Paper, Styrofoam and wire scrap to minimize our contribution to the Land Fill.
