A home theater system consists of four basic elements: display device (like a TV or projector), surround sound receiver, speaker system and a source (like bluray or standard DVD player and Cable TV). DVD Players and Blu-Ray systems

Source Components

The best sources for a home theater are DVD's, especially the new blu-ray DVD players from Pioneer Elite, Sony and Denon. Yamaha has yet to produce a high definition DVD player, but they make great standard DVD players.

Another exciting source component is the new Escient Vision video server. This unit will allow you to store hundreds of movies on hard drives and access them around the home.
